Vineyard Offshore was launched in April 2022 by the development team behind Vineyard Wind 1, the nation’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm. Vineyard Offshore leads the development of 3 lease areas off the coasts of New England, New York, and California, encompassing more than 6 gigawatts of potential capacity. ‍Vineyard Offshore is dedicated to building a new clean energy industry in the United States rooted in the communities where we work. Building off of our “look local first” approach implemented during the development of Vineyard Wind 1, Vineyard Offshore strives to provide ample opportunities for diverse and local businesses to join the offshore wind industry as suppliers and contractors.

SouthCoast Wind, a joint venture of Shell New Energies and Ocean Winds North America, is developing an offshore wind lease area—located over 30 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard —that has the potential to generate 2,400 megawatts of low-cost clean energy, enough to power more than one million homes across New England. SouthCoast Wind is expected to create more than 14,000 direct jobs over the project’s lifetime, and will represent 8% of the Nation’s goal for offshore wind energy by 2030. 
 
SouthCoast Wind is committed to developing an offshore wind industry framework in Southern New England and intends to procure substantial goods and services from local businesses.
